Cursed for Centuries Now on Kindle for .99 Cents

Supernatural Living book 1
Urban Fantasy

After a long look in the mirror, Rayne Valiente finds herself in a gooey mess of a situation. She's torn between staying on the safe path of her life and following the dangerous road that could alter her life forever.

If she stays, people will die. If she goes, she'll be hunted.

She's told the choice is only hers, but her heart and mind scream otherwise. If only she wasn't harboring a powerful gift deep inside, maybe the choice to continue living her normal life would be easier.

But dark secrets of the past haunt her very existence, and she will do whatever it takes to get the answers. Even if she has to leave her life of isolation behind and learn to trust complete strangers who are like night and day when it comes to the human race.

Strangers living the Supernatural life.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this book, but I figured a free copy for my prime account was worth a try. I was pleasantly surprised and became enthralled with the plot and characters, and I wanted more more more! There was never enough to detail to fill the void yet it was worth the time it took to read.

If you enjoy reading about Witches, Werewolves, Demons, and Urban Fantasy mixed with a little Paranormal Romance, this is a book you should read. The story starts out intense and only continues to grow as the main character discovers more and more about herself everyday. It includes: death, tragedies, hate, love, sex, and self discovery all wrapped up together with a Paranormal edge and a craving to find out what's going to happen next.

The main character, Rayne Valiente, has true history, a rough past. As a child, she was placed in the foster care system and thrown from family to family because of her differences. No one understood her. No one knew why she was withdrawn, stuck behind a wall she created because of what happened before she was placed. No one got that she was scared, confused, torn between reality and what she witnessed. No one cared to give her the answers she needed. As an adult, she keeps to herself because she's different. She thinks if the world knows who she is, they won't accept her, but the truth of the matter is, even she doesn't know who she is or where she came from. And because of the isolation she feels she needs to be as normal as possible, she doesn't date men, she doesn't have friends, and she works only because she has to work. Her job as a Child Protective Social Worker only reminds her of the what happened when she was a child, but she's able to confront the old nightmare and bring it to justice.

The same day she finally leaves her boogeyman in the past, she receives a letter from a strange man. He's tall, handsome, scruffy in the bad-boy sort of way, and he smells different than any man she's met before. He reminds her or something or someone she knew as a child, but she can't place what or who. And even more baffling, the letter is from her mother, the woman who died when she was only four years old; murdered by another monster from her nightmares.

The letter gives her a choice: confront her family's history or wait for it to find her. "If she stays, people will die. If she goes, she'll be hunted." Her mother fills her in on the details of her family's past. The abilities she's had since a teenager are not random; she's a Witch from a powerful bloodline of magic, and her mother's red-eyed killer is a Demon from the Unknown, a creature who will do anything and kill anyone to find her. This is her destiny, and the choice is supposedly hers, but she ends up getting sucked in a portal and spit out twenty feet from where her father and sister reside. She discovers an entire world of creatures she never noticed before yet going back to her old life doesn't seem a viable option. Guilt eats her, emotions are on a high, she falls in love and becomes obsessed with saving her new sister, boyfriend, friends, and humanity. Nothing can stop her. No one can get in her way. If she can find a way, she will do whatever it takes to win the battle against evil.

This tale is twisting and tragic, an intense story of facing your fears and making the right decisions. You find yourself in the main character's shoes, wanting more yet fearing the outcome. You never know what's going to happen next. You never know if she'll get out of the crunch she's fallen into. All you can do is hope she wins the fight before the Demon murders her new family and friends, regains his throne in the Unknown, and reigns over humanity again.

I can't wait to see what happens in the next installment!
